Become an Associate
Associates do not give public presentations, but they help state programs with countless day-to-day activities and special events. To learn more about becoming a trained and certified Operation Lifesaver Associate, please register for a Presenter/Associate training class by contacting your State Coordinator.
Associate Certification at a Glance:
- Complete the Presenter Certification Course and receive an acceptable rating from the Trainer and obtain a passing score on the Post-Course Test. Associates do not need to give a 10-minute condensed Operation Lifesaver Presentation (as would a Presenter trainee).
- Associates must fully understand and agree to abide by all general policies and procedures of OLI as stated in the Volunteer Application.
- Each Associate is expected to help the State Coordinator in one of the following areas at least once a year:
- Help as an event assistant at a fair, conference, booth, etc.
- Write a newsletter or article for your area or state.
- Help run a Presenter orientation session.
- Gather donated items for give-aways/raffles at Operation Lifesaver events.
- Assist in scheduling Presentations.
- Help plan or assist with an event.
- Work as a clerical assistant to the State Coordinator.
- Inventory OL materials.
- Help with fundraising or grant writing.
- Assist the State Coordinator in another significant way.
If an Associate decides to be certified as a Presenter in order to give presentations, they must attend another Presenter Certification Course and successfully complete the speaker training requirements
